Achilles Tendonitis
The Achilles tendon is the structure that attaches your calf muscle to the back of your heel. Achilles tendonitis is typically caused by repetitive or undue stress to the Achilles tendon. Tight hamstrings and calf muscles, as well as limitations in your ankle range of motion, can alter your walking pattern, and contribute to the problem. Achilles tendonitis is often aggravated with prolonged walking.
